Chitchor

"Chitchor" is a 1976 Bollywood musical romance film directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film stars Amol Palekar and Zarina Wahab in lead roles, with Master Rajoo and Vijayendra Ghatge in supporting roles.

The story revolves around a young man named Vinod (played by Amol Palekar) who arrives in a small village for a job as an accountant. He falls in love with Geeta (played by Zarina Wahab), the daughter of his landlord. The twist in the tale is that Geeta is already engaged to be married to another man, and Vinod must find a way to win her heart and convince her to marry him instead.

The film's music, composed by Ravindra Jain, became very popular, especially the songs "Gori Tera Gaon Bada Pyara" and "Jab Deep Jale Aana". "Chitchor" was a critical and commercial success, and is considered one of the best romantic films of Indian cinema. The film won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
