The countryman John Denver started performing in clubs when he was in college. He became a part of a band and sang in folk song clubs. He later abandoned his band life for a solo career his song leaving on a jet plane was taken by Peter, Paul, and Mary a popular American folk group. And hit number 1 on the Billboard charts John’s version too hit number 2 in the UK. He would perform free concerts and hand out his album CDs as gifts. He toured promoting his album with more free concerts as well as local radio station interviews. Thus he rose to fame with the Poems Prayers and Promises which had the hit song Take me home Country Roads. He has also written a song for Frank Sinatra.
This concert is from 1977 Sydney. He was well-established at this time and was performing various songs from his albums. His songs are still remembered and cherished by his fans and music lovers alike.
