A well-known name in the rock and roll industry the Doobie Brothers were named by the band neighbor since they couldn’t come up with a name. Initially against the name the band decided to change it later but it never happened. They performed live in motorcycle clubs and gained fame from there while performing their name was tossed onto a Warner Brothers staff representative who decided to offer them a contract. Their first album was not very successful and they toured to promote it but it did not garner the views or reception it was supposed to. Their second album Toulouse Street brought them the breakthrough they wanted. They went through a lot of shifts in band members and replaced and experimented with them alike. They released 7 albums in total during the late 70s and gained significant popularity for the same.
Their tour promoted the Takin’ it to the streets in Winterland Arena in 1976. They were well-seasoned at the time and had a huge gathering to support them.
