They made changes to the members at a very early stage and finally were able to play at a local bar called Rum Runners they were paid to work when not rehearsing or performing. After a supporting concert, they gained critical attention which led to a bidding war between EMI records and Phonograph records. They signed a deal with EMI records and released their first album, Duran Duran their first three songs became immediate hits with the third song Gils on Film becoming very popular. The album peaked at number 3 and they went on a tour in the USA. They released a second album Rio which also charted very well and Princess Diana declared them as her favorite band. They were dubbed the Fab Five just as the Beatles were called the Fab Four. Their new album seven and the ragged tiger too was a hit and became very successful in the US and UK.
