After a group called the executive split Andrew Ridgeley and George Michael together formed Wham! They started with debut singles which did not do very well. But eventually, they were given a chance to perform at top of the pops which made their single Young Guns chart at the top of the top 40 charts. They established themselves as Britain’s top Pop acts and rivaled Duran Duran as well as Culture Club. Their next singles Wake me up before you Go-Go and Careless whisper charted at the very top of the UK charts and gained more traction from the audience. They also released Last Christmas and freedom, which was issued and reissued the following years. In 195 they ended up taking a break to take a lengthy world tour. They split up in 1986 as George Michael wanted to make music centered toward a more mature audience.
Their concert here is live from the world tour they were in China in 1985. An overwhelmingly positive reaction can be seen from the audience.
