Aerosmith

Formed from a merger of two bands called the Strangeurs as well as Jam Band. After a few live performances, they were given a record deal from Columbia records. They released their first-ever album called Aerosmith which charted at number 155 on the Billboard 200 but its songs charted well it eventually was certified platinum. Their second album Get Your Wings was released in 1974 and were very successful selling over 3 million copies. The third album Toys in the Attic was a hit and established them as a unique band and not a knockoff they even toured to support the sales further. Their following albums Rocks and Draw the Line got them critical acclaim and polished their already shining Rockstar image. They toured heavily to promote these albums. Their next album night in the ruts was when their guitarist quit and they brought in Jimmy Crespo. Rock in a hard place their next album charted well and another member left the band. They released several other albums in the 1980s like Done with Mirrors, Permanent Vacation as well as Pump. All of these albums were extremely successful and brought them more critical acclaim and success. They even won a Grammy for Pump’s song Janie’s Got a Gun. They are known as pioneers who have inspired many bands like Van Halen, Motley Crue, Guns ‘n Roses as well as Metallica.
