Established by the Van Halen brothers who were proficient with music from a very young age. Van Halen played for warner bros in a demo and left them so impressed they signed them a letter of intent. Their debut album Van Halen sold very well and charted at number 19 on the Billboard charts. Their next album Women and Children First was released in 1980. They toured heavily after their first album and produced more albums continually and quickly. Their third album Fair Warning sold moderately as it was dark and punk rock. Their next album 5150 was a huge success charting at number 1 on the Billboard charts. They also toured and released Balance another album that sold well. Their next album was called Van Halen III but it did not sell as well as some of the others. Their next album was a Different Kind of Truth. Released in 2012. It charted very well and brought critical acclaim. The band disbanded after Eddie Van Halen’s death.
