The diamond of the music industry Neil Diamond. Got his start from sunbeam records which he dropped out of college for. He wrote songs and sang them with his friend Jack Packer for a while after which he went solo. The songs he wrote were performed by popular artists like the Monkees and Elvis Presley. In 1971 and 1972 he went live performing continuously for 20 nights in a row. After this, he took a well-deserved break and resurged in 1976 for live shows. One of his most famous live shows Thank you Australia is featured here held in 1976. 'America' has become one of his top songs though the movie The Jazz Singer was a flop the songs became very well known.
Diamond announced their retirement from touring in march 2020 after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Although he did not retire from music and continues to write songs. He has also performed for small gatherings.
