Young Kristen Parker has her wrists cut by the dream - stalking monster Freddy Krueger during a hallucinatory episode. Her mother takes Kristen to a mental hospital where she joins a group of other problematic teenagers after thinking the wounds were from a suicide attempt. Nancy Thompson, who had fought Freddy years before, is one of the medical professionals present. Nancy believes Kristen has the ability to finally get rid of Freddy from the world.
