Halfway home, the crew of the commercial spacecraft Nostromo is roused from cryo-sleep to investigate a distress signal from an extraterrestrial ship in the depths of space. When the crew comes across a nest of eggs within the alien ship, the panic starts. One of the crew members is attached to by an entity that bursts from an egg and puts him in a coma.
