Professor of psychology and renowned scientist Edward Jessup makes the decision to mix his research in sensory deprivation tanks with potent hallucinogens in the hopes of unlocking other states of consciousness. At first, the experiments are successful, but as Jessup keeps working, he starts to go through changed mental and bodily states. His grasp on reality starts to deteriorate as he spends more time in sensory deprivation.
