In challenging South Central Los Angeles, Tre is assigned to live with his father, Furious Styles. While Tre's strict father instils in him proper morals and respect and his devoted girlfriend Brandi educates him about religion, Doughboy and Ricky, two of Tre's friends, don't receive the same support and become sucked into the neighborhood's thriving drug and gang culture, with increasingly tragic results.
