Attempts are made by a group of people to communicate with alien intelligence in this science fiction thriller. Roy Neary sees an ill-defined flying thing, and as proof, he gets a "sunburn" from its intense lights. In order to find out the truth about UFOs, Roy is willing to risk his life and refuses to accept that what he witnessed could have an explanation.
