Dr. Susan McAlester is collecting shark brain tissue on an island research facility in pursuit of a potential Alzheimer's disease treatment. A routine technique goes wrong, and a shark begins assaulting the researchers when the facility's supporters send an executive to look into the experiments. Now that sharks outweigh their human keepers, McAlester and her team must devise a strategy to prevent them from breaking free and reproducing in the water.
