Dave, who is unfortunate and homeless, decides to give up and sneaks into someone else's property to try to drown himself in the pool. Dave, a white - collar businessman who owns the pool, takes the tramp out of the water and into his house, foiling Jerry's plans. Jerry, however, is unimpressed by Dave's generosity and his status - obsessed wife, Barbara, and instead chooses to pursue the family's maid, Carmen.
