Liz Blake, a prostitute, is put in peril when she witnesses a mysterious woman killing Kate Miller, a housewife, with great brutality. The real killer wants to silence the only witness to the crime because Liz is believed by the police to be the murderer. Only Peter, Kate's son and inventor, agrees with Liz. Liz and Peter work together to identify the real killer, who has an unexpected method of concealing her identity and an even more unexpected reason for wanting to kill.
