Willis Davidge and Jeriba Shigan, two enemy fighters, become stranded on an extraterrestrial world during a conflict between humans and the reptile Drac race. Willis and his Drac counterpart can both breathe on the planet, but the terrain and wildlife are often hostile, necessitating cooperation between the two in order to exist. Willis and Jeriba eventually become unlikely friends, despite the difficulties their particular connection confronts.
