Father Lamont is picked by his superiors to look into the passing of Father Merrin, who passed away while performing an exorcism on young Regan MacNeil, because of his background with exorcisms. Dr. Tuskin is treating Regan for her mental health when Lamont arrives. He is able to discover Merrin exorcised the same demon from a boy in Africa by hypnotising the female. Lamont goes in quest of the kids in Africa in the hopes of finding some answers.
