Dan Gallagher enjoys his life. His New York legal company is growing, he and his wife, Beth, are joyfully married, and he has a devoted daughter. But everything changes after a brief affair with a seductive book editor named Alex. Alex becomes unstable after Dan betrays her, and her conduct progresses from aggressive pursuit to compulsive stalking. Dan understands that protecting himself and his family is his top concern rather than keeping his affair a secret.
