Ben Holmes' only goal is to arrive in Savannah, Georgia, in time for his wedding from New York. Holmes grudgingly drives back to Bridget Cahill, his future bride, in a rental car with the eccentric Sarah Lewis after a seagull and a hurricane wreck his chances of flying there. However, nature appears to be working against his every effort to make a prompt return, and in the interim, he notices that he is becoming more attached to Sarah.
