The camp counselors decide to open a summer camp near Crystal Lake despite the area's violent background. fresh-faced people Jack, Alice, Bill, Marcie, and Ned pay little attention to the elders, despite the superstitious locals' prohibition. Then they learn that a ruthless killer is after them. As they are being stabbed, shot, and slashed by a brutal adversary, the counsellors struggle to survive.
