Irish mob boss Leo O'Bannon refuses to let the Italian Mafia to execute a dishonest bookie, primarily because he is dating the bookie's sister, cunning gun molly, Verna Bernbaum. Tom Reagan, Leo's right - hand man, is secretly seeing Verna as well, but when he is discovered, he is forced to change sides and join the Italian mafia in the midst of a radically rising gang war over the sale of alcohol.
