Federal agent Sonya Blade, Shaolin monk Lui Kang, and action movie star Johnny Cage are the three martial artists that Lord Rayden personally chooses and mentors. Rayden takes the group to Outworld, the location of an interdimensional fighting competition, after extensive training. There, the three humans must defeat Shang Sung's demonic troops or enable Sung to conquer the planet.
