George Roundy, a noted rake and Beverly Hills hairdresser, encounters difficulties when his promiscuous habits start to conflict with his more responsible professional aspirations against the backdrop of Nixon's election as president. Even more complications arise when Roundy seeks his affluent lover Felicia Karpf for a business loan while she is having an affair with Lester, the husband of Karpf.
