To take over a meteorological satellite and destroy Colombia's coffee harvest, business mogul Ross Webster hires computer programmer Gus Gorman. After Superman successfully foils the scheme, Webster instructs Gorman to utilise the satellite to find kryptonite, the Man of Steel's fatal flaw. Gorman substituted tar for the missing unidentified component in the kryptonite, but Superman experiences an unforeseen side effect.
