Humanity's future is in jeopardy as the villainous Sardo Numspa kidnaps a Tibetan boy known as the mystic Golden Child. The priestess Kee Nang searches for the Chosen One, who will spare the boy from death, in Los Angeles, on the opposite side of the globe. Nang approaches social worker Chandler Jarrell for advice after seeing him on television describing his capacity to locate missing children despite his scepticism about being "selected."
