Scientist Sherman Klump, intelligent and obese, creates a miraculous weight - loss method. After a disastrous date with Carla Purty, a chemistry student, Klump becomes unhappy and attempts the cure for himself. Although he sheds 250 pounds right away, a second personality—a loudmouthed braggart who goes by Buddy Love—is a side effect.
