Jay Austin, a former military police officer, is now a San Francisco investigator. He takes the case when his old MP partner is slain at a military base. But when he gets to the crime scene, he discovers he needs the assistance of Lt. Col. Alan Caldwell, an old foe. The situation is further complicated when Austin develops feelings for Donna, Caldwell's daughter. The two men continue their search nonetheless, growing to appreciate one another as they go for the murderer.
