The perpetually incompetent Inspector Clouseau is suspended by Chief Inspector Dreyfus when he allows a robbery to go place right in front of him. However, Clouseau is reinstated after the fabled Pink Panther diamond is taken from the National Museum in Lugash at the Shah's request. The notorious Phantom, whom Clouseau holds a vendetta against, must be the thief, the inspector swiftly deduces, but his assumptions are, as usual, incorrect.
