Ted misses his dream prom date with Mary after a hilarious yet serious accident. Years later he is still in love with her and hires a private investigator Pat Healy to track her down. Pat tracks her and becomes obsessed thus lying to Ted telling him she has 4 kids and is overweight. A pizza delivery man who lies about his occupation exposes Healy’s lies while Healy exposes his lies. Ted finds out about Mary and drives to meet her, sorting through a net of lies made by Mary’s suitors Ted has to detangle the web and get her back.
