An airplane carrying U.S Marshall Sam Gerard, a criminal as well as several other passengers crashes in a forest. The criminal Mark Sheridan accused of double murder escapes using this opportunity. He also helps several people from the wreckage before he flees. Gerard is ordered to hunt the escapee with the help of State Department personnel John Royce. They are in hot pursuit of the criminal when they start doubting the criminal’s actual intentions.
