A legendary singer, actor, and dedicated southerner Andy Griffith started as a monologist. He then took to Broadway with an adaptation of his famous teleplay No Time for Sergeants. He made his film debut with A Face in the Crowd which painted his darker role as infamous. He then starred in the Andy Griffith Show and subsequently in the popular Matlock series. He further took on his dark roles in Crime of innocence, Gramps, and Under the influence. He was also a Southern Gospel singer and embraced his career with open arms.
