Mary Poppins actress initially a singer rose to fame and performed in front of the king and queen of England. She then was cast in BBC programs and finally made a Broadway debut. With credit to her beautiful singing voice, she was cast as Cinderella. Simultaneously she received an offer from Disney to play Mary Poppins the role that got her the Academy Award for best actress. Since then she has appeared in many roles and sung for audiences. Her voice now has become hoarse with age and after a vocal cord operation. She continues to voice characters in animated movies.
