The curly-haired little actress rose to fame after being spotted by Charles Lamont of Educational Pictures. She was since launched as a child actress and a star acting in films like Baby Take a Bow and The Little Colonel. She led a successful career and retired from acting at 22. Since then she was involved in diplomacy and governmental stature. She even endorsed and merchandised several products for little girls and the companies profited heavily.

Awards: Temple was the recipient of many awards and honors, including a special Juvenile Academy Award, the Life Achievement Award from the American Center of Films for Children, the National Board of Review Career Achievement Award, Kennedy Center Honors, and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. In 1970, she received the Golden Plate Award from the American Academy of Achievement. On September 11, 2002, a life-size bronze statue of the child Temple by sculptor Nijel Binns was erected on the Fox Studio lot.
